About Scott Richards

Scott Richards is a writer, entrepreneur, and sales leader. Armed with an MBA and a background in accounting, Scott spent more than a decade building and leading multimillion-dollar sales teams in the construction industry before returning to his first passion—writing.

A former award-winning journalist with nine press awards, Scott built his career on storytelling and the ability to connect through words. That same skillset fueled his sales success, where he became one of the top-closing contractors in his state—turning complex ideas into simple, human conversations that build trust.

Today, Scott blends those worlds through Lounge Band Press, his indie imprint for stories that teach, inspire, and move people. His debut children’s book, One by One, Panda Fun, launched the Panda Stack Series. Under the pen name S.D. Richards, he also writes YA fiction and poetry exploring growth, grief, and grit.

Whether he’s writing books, closing roofs, or reading to his son, Scott’s mission is simple—create work that lasts and help others believe in better.
